CONTENT DESCRIPTION

When things go wrong, there are many aspects that need to be checked as well including the set-up of the anaesthetic machine. How the machine is configured and the way the selections are done has a significant effect on the safety and efficiency of the anaesthetic and what complications may arise.

Join us for this interesting panel discussion where our panel of international experts will guide us with case discussions in figuring out what can go wrong and why. Typical complications associated with the flow meter, vaporizer etc will be discussed. We will present case scenarios which will explore these important points. Questions and comments will be encouraged.

Briony graduated from The University of Liverpool in 2000 and then spent 18 months in mixed practice in Manchester before returning to Liverpool to do a residency in veterinary anaesthesia. After completing the residency she stayed for 2 years as an anaesthesia clinician and achieved the certificate in anaesthesia.

Briony moved to a private referral practice in Yorkshire as a consultant anaesthetist for 3 years, during which time she gained her European Diploma in Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She returned to the University of Liverpool in 2010 and is now a Professor in Veterinary Anaesthesia, Analgesia and Education.
