Your six-day journey begins at the Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa, a luxurious 5-star resort on the famous Four Mile Beach. where you will settle in with a welcome dinner highlighting the region’s exceptional local cuisine and tropical flavors. Days will be filled with engaging lectures, interactive discussions, and practical sessions, balanced with free time to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, kayak along the coastline, hike through lush rainforest trails, or simply relax by the pool. CE-Only Registration for Local Veterinary Professionals
VetPD offers special CE-only registration rates for local veterinary professionals attending events in their own region or who do not require accommodation or destination-event inclusions. This flexible option allows attendees to participate fully in the continuing education programme without paying for accommodation or additional social activities.
CE-only registration includes access to all educational sessions, as well as tea/coffee breaks and lunches scheduled as part of the CE programme. This option is ideal for attendees who can arrange their own accommodation or who wish to attend purely for professional development. Availability and eligibility may vary by event and location. Please contact VetPD to enquire about CE-only pricing and local vet rates.
The event fee includes accommodation, all meals (incl. tea/coffee and one soft drink per meal), the Mossman Gorge Dreamtime Excursion, all lectures and workshops as well as extensive event notes and a certificate of attendance. Attendees can choose to stay in a single room or can share a room with another attendee at a reduced price. Attendees are also welcome to attend the event with a partner/guest (special guest price available). The event fee does not include flights or alcoholic drinks. Rooms are allocated at the discretion of VetPD. Early event registration is recommended as there are only a limited number of places available.

- Attendees are expected to take out comprehensive medical and travel insurance in the event of unforeseen circumstances leading to attendees falling ill or having to cancel their trip to Queensland.
Abby graduated from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2001. She spent 5 years in small animal practice in Kent, during which time she developed an interest in small animal diagnostic imaging and got the RCVS Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging in 2006. This interest led to a residency at Cambridge, and the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2009.
Since then, she has been working as an imager in referral practice, and during this time has mentored a number of imaging residents through their specialist training. Alongside this, she has enjoyed teaching vets about diagnostic imaging and in particular about ultrasound; and works in teleradiology.
Abby has published a number of peer reviewed research papers in the field of clinical diagnostic imaging, and is an author of several book chapters in the field. Her current active research interests include imaging of the feline hepatobiliary tract.
Abby is a past Chair of the European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, and has served on the board and examination committees of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
More InfoDan graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2013. He then spent 16 months in a small animal general practice in Suffolk, before returning to the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital to complete his one-year rotating internship. A further year was spent at a Tier 3 hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, followed by completion of a Residency in Small Animal Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Dan joined Davies in November 2019. His main clinical interests lie in Endocrinology and Haematology/Immunology.

1. Payment Plan Option
VetPD offers flexible payment plans to make registration fees more manageable. If you would like to split your payment, please contact Ruth Harrington at accounts@vetpd.com to make individual arrangements. A few important points to note:
- Payment plans must be arranged before the final balance is due.
- The number of instalments and payment schedule will be agreed with you directly.
- The full course fee must be settled before the start of the event to confirm your place.
- Payment plans are available for both card and bank transfer payments.
- Please allow at least 5 working days for bank transfers to clear.
2. Family & Group Bookings

7. Tipping
- Tipping is not a strong custom in Australia. Service staff are paid fair wages, so tips are not expected in most situations.
- Restaurants & Cafés: Rounding up the bill or leaving small change is appreciated but not required. In higher-end restaurants, leaving around 5–10% for excellent service is becoming more common, but it is still optional
- Taxis & Ride-shares: Not expected. You can round up to the nearest dollar if you wish.
- Hotels: Porters and housekeeping staff do not usually expect tips, though you may offer a few dollars for exceptional service.
- Tours & Guides: A small tip (5–10%) is appreciated if you feel you’ve had outstanding service, but it’s not compulsory
