Alex graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge in 2009. An equine internship at Liverpool University in 2009 was interspersed by a spell in equine practice,  and then a Medicine Fellowship at Hagyards in Kentucky in 2011.  After returning to equine practice for a further year, Alex joined the Weipers Centre Equine Hospital, Glasgow University to complete an equine internal medicine residency and Masters degree.  Now a Diplomat of the European College of Internal Medicine (2016) she is currently an equine medicine clinician at the Weipers Centre, Glasgow.  Alex is particularly interested in infectious diseases with a focus on working equids and she has worked in North and West Africa building clinical and research expertise.
