Antonio Pozzi is the Director of the Clinic of Small Animal Surgery and head of the Small Animal Department at the University of Zurich. After graduating at the University of Milan in 1997, he completed an internship and residency at the Ohio State University and became a Diplomate ACVS in 2006. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2013. From 2007 to 2014 he worked at the University of Florida where he was appointed Associate Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine and adjunct Professor at College of Medicine and College of Engineering. In 2014 he was appointed Professor and Director of the Clinic of Small Animal Surgery at the University of Zurich, where he leads a team focusing on neurosurgery, orthopedics, sport medicine and oncologic surgery. In 2018 he was appointed Head of the department of Small Animal Science. Dr. Pozzi collaborates with engineers and medical doctors with the goal of finding better treatment solutions for dogs and for human patients. His clinical and research focus areas include minimally invasive joint surgery, joint replacement and canine sports medicine. His most recent research includes stifle stability and shoulder musculotendinous injuries.
