Dr. Connolly is a Professor in Veterinary Cardiology at the Royal Veterinary College and divides his time between research, the referral clinic and Post Graduate teaching. In the clinic he supervises four Clinical Training Scholars within the tertiary referral centre where they perform leading edge medical and interventional management of the cardiac caseload. The interventional procedures include PDA occlusion, balloon valvuloplasty, stent deployment, pacemaker placement and transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER). Dr. Connolly's primary research interest is feline myocardial disease working at the subcellular, cellular and clinical levels leading to over 50 published peer reviewed papers in high impact basic science and clinical Journals. Additionally, he has presented his results at numerous national and international veterinary and basic science conferences.
