Dr Piketh is an up and coming young researcher at the University of Pretoria with goals aiming at research relating to the cardiovascular responses to systemic and infectious diseases in horses. His research interests also extend to immune mediated disease in horses with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease. His current research project aims at describing clinical and clinicopathological changes seen in horses, naturally infected with equine encephalosis virus.
