Laura graduated from Cambridge University in 2011 and worked in small animal practice prior to completing a rotating internship at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). She finished her Emergency and Critical Care residency at the RVC in June 2019 and is now a  diplomate of both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. After a short period of locum work in private practice she has re-joined the RVC and works there as a lecturer in emergency and critical care in January 2020. She has a particular interest in the use of point-of-care ultrasound in emergency and critical care and acute kidney injury.
