After qualification, Nick worked in primary care practice, before undertaking a Small Animal Medicine and Oncology Residency at the University of Cambridge. He obtained the RCVS Diploma (DSAM) and the European Diploma in Small Animal Medicine (DipECVIM-CA) in 2006. Following this he completed a PhD then became a clinician in internal medicine and oncology. Nick was a Clinical Associate Professor in Small Animal Medicine and Oncology at University of Nottingham between December 2013 and October 2017. He was Chair of the BSAVA Congress Programme Committee and also co-author of the BSAVA Guide to Procedures in Small Animal Practice. Nick lectures widely in the UK and abroad in all areas of small animal internal medicine and emergency medicine.
