Sanna Lindåse

Sanna graduated as a veterinarian from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala, Sweden, in 2012. She completed her PhD in equine internal medicine at SLU in 2017. Sanna’s thesis focused on the pathophysiology of insulin dysregulation and the development and refinement of diagnostic methods.
Following her doctoral studies, Sanna worked as a university lecturer in equine internal medicine before holding the position of postdoctoral researcher in equine internal medicine between 2021 and 2024. During her postdoctoral appointment, her research primarily focused on clinical studies investigating novel therapeutic strategies, including the use of SGLT2 inhibitors for the treatment of insulin dysregulation and prevention of hyperinsulinemia-associated laminitis (HAL) in horses. Sanna has continued this work after completing her postdoctoral position and has gained extensive experience in the clinical use of SGLT2 inhibitors in horses with insulin dysregulation.
Sanna has published several scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals
and regularly lectures at continuing education courses for PhD students, veterinary
professionals, and various stakeholders. She is currently a resident of the European
College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM), in parallel with her position as a university
lecturer and researcher at SLU.
